TMS320F28035: F28035 and DRV8303EVM

Part Number: TMS320F28035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301, DRV8303EVM

I am looking through the firmware for InstaSPIN BLDC of the DRV8303EVM and was wondering what is the use of the PWMDAC? The header file "F2803xPWMDAC_PM.H" mentions that the file is specific to the DRV8301 kit and configure PWM 4A, 5A, 6A and 6B as DAC pins. What is this used for?

Thanks

-David

  • PWMDAC is a system whereby you can route internal signals out to a set of header pins as an analog signal by passing a PWM signal through an external low-pass filter. It is intended to allow signals to be tested on an oscilloscope for debug purposes.
