TMS320F28075: XDS100V2 debugger connection getting cut in high current environment

Part Number: TMS320F28075

Hello,

I am using an XDS100V2 debugger from Olimex for debugging my 3 phase PFC rectifier circuit. I am working on a 22KW system. Sometimes when I am debugging my code, the debugger connection gets cut and I am unable to get any more debugging information (my controller continues to work, it does not get reset).

What could be the reason and how do i get around it?

Thanks,

Mathew

This is because of the propagating noise. You can use a Ferrite based USB cable or wound your USB cable around a ferrite core for better results. You can also try using a USB isolator.

Another question. My debugger is an open board type. Do you think that keeping it exposed would be risky for the debugger? Because I had an instance where my debugger went bust while operating in such an environment. Could it be the EMI ?
