Hi,

I am not able to connect CCS version 6 with the TMS320F28335 experimental kit. It has onboard USB emulator (XDS100v1). It is showing the error below. 

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -151 @ 0x0)
One of the FTDI driver functions used during
the connect returned bad status or an error.
The cause may one or more of: invalid emulator serial number,
blank emulator EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable.
Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif'
folder to verify the emulator can be located.

I have checked in the device manager and I found that onboard USB emulator (XDS100v1) is missing.

My question is how to reinstall it? 

Kindly help me.

    Hi Prasun,

    You need to reinstall CCS and check the Spectrum Digital drivers in Debugger Installation window.

    Hi Gautam,

    Thank you so much for your kind response and co-operation. I reinstall CCS. Still i am facing the same problem. I did not find Spectrum Digital drivers in Debugger Installation window in CCS GUI. Can you please specify the path where it is? I have checked the control card putting in other docking station and it is working fine. But any control card in this docking station is showing the similar error. I have also checked the other TMS320F28335 DSP kit with the CCS installed in my PC and it is working fine. So the problem i guess with the docking station emulator driver. It was working before but suddenly its not working. I have checked the USB cable and its also fine. Kindly suggest what to do and if possible share your mail id. My mail id is prasun210@gmail.com

    I have also test the connectuon in the target configuration setting. It is showing the same error. In the device manager, when i am connecting the faulty docking station, XDS100v1 usb emulator port is not coming in the USB list. But for health docking station, its coming. How to install this XDS100v1 usb emulator driver?

    Seems like the other one is damaged. Check the voltages on the faulty docking station esp. 3.3V, 5V. I hope the there's no controlCard inserted.

    The kit has two parts such as control card and docking station. I have to put the control card on the slots given on the docking station. I am talking about this fault docking station. I have checked the control card of the faulty kit on a different dopcking station and its is ok. So, there is no issue with the control card. The only issue left with the docking station where the on board emulator is situated. That onboard emulator is having the inbuilt driver software and when we connect the USB with the system it is automatically detected. This thing is not happening for the faulty docking station. I am testing the docking sttaion with control card and 3.3 V, 5 V are coming, all the LEDs are also glowing. I hope i have clarified my problems.

    So you're able to observe the voltages on faulty docking station. Which means the LDO is fine and the FTD part is not functioning. You can try replacing the same part.
