Hello everyone,

I am new to TI micro controllers, I searched for videos and tutorials but I am confused. Please help me.

I want to implement a circuit using TMS320F28335 DSP, What hardware do I need? Does the TMS320F28335 experimenter kit contain every hardware needed?

Hi Ata,

What kind of project are you doing? Understanding the project may enable us to make better guidance.

The TMDSDOCK28335 would be a good place to start you development. It contains everything you need to start writing code on the device - and provides you with a breadboarding area if you need to add transceivers or connectors to other boards (or external equipment).

Thank you for the response Brett.
I want to implement DC-AC inverter. I need to implement the circuit (maybe on the breadboard of the dock) and feedback the current and voltage to the board using two sensors and then do some calculations on these two signals and then based on these calculations provide logic output to the gate of MOSFETs.
So I need to be able to give inputs and outputs and upload a code to the board.
If I can do all these tasks with experimenter kit, I will go with that. But I am not sure if I should get experimenter kit or ezdsp kit.

Hi,

Based on what you're mentioning, either could serve as good starting points to begin learning.

Of the two, I'd recommend going with the TMDSDOCK28335, largely because of cost. This also gives you the opportunity to use the controlCARD, which is included, along with a custom inverter baseboard that you could design.

The eZDSP (or the TMDSPREX28335) would probably be more interesting if you need to evaluate the communication peripherals of the C2000 device.

Another option is to try and begin with either the TIEVM-HV-1PH-DCAC or TMDSSOLARUINVKIT (depending on what kind of inverter you need). These will already have a power stage designed & some firmware (available in controlSUITE) that runs with them. Note that both are not designed to directly work with the F28335 device, but instead newer devices in the C2000 product family.

Note that TI also sells several motor control inverter evaluation kits as well (of various voltage/current levels).
