ISO7240C: What is the correct schematic for ISO7240?

Part Number: ISO7240C

Hi,

I'm using LAUNCHX-F28069M and there are two isolators (ISO7240 and ISO7231). The schematic made me a little bit confused, do I need to connect the input and output of the isolator with 0 ohm resistor?

Hi Kash,

The resistors R16, R18, R19, R20 should NOT be populated when isolator is used . And these resistor should be populated when the isolator is not used.
I will move this post to MCU forum, as I feel that will be the right forum for this discussion,

Hi Kash,

I agree with Tejas.

Just to be more specific, the resistors are used if you want to jump the isolation boundary. You would have to remove the isolator chips off the board and populate the 0 ohm resistors then.

Otherwise, you would just leave the isolators as is.

Let me know if that still does not make sense/answer your question.

Thanks for your comment. I was going to make my custom board and it got me confused. I'm going to put the isolator without the resistors.
