LAUNCHXL-F28069M: eCAN self test procedure

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Hi,

I've starting using F28069 launchpad for a couple of weeks now. I'll need to communicate from another controller using CAN.(CAN is something I am new to).

To start off, I ran the eCAN self-test. I am unable to find the procedure for testing out this example using CCS though.

What should I be observing ?

I am reading my mail box data variables for now.

Would I need a software for reading my CAN messages?

I read that the self test is only internal to the CAN so I probably wouldn't be observing any waveforms on the CANH and CANL pins. Is that right?

Thanks

    Where did you find this self-test code?

    Answer--> If PassCount = MessageReceivedCount and ErrorCount = 0, the test case has passed.

    What should I be observing ?

    I am reading my mail box data variables for now.

    Answer--> That is all you need to do.

    Would I need a software for reading my CAN messages?

    Answer--> No.

    Answer--> That is correct.

    Thanks
