Hello TI,

I have been using CCS already for a while. I am using it to program custom baord with processor F28027FPTTG4B65C6YRTG4. It has never been a problem. till this time that I am not able to click on the resume button, every time I click on it get "unclicked" again. I have tested my debuger connection. it is positive. my debugger window gives me SW breakpoints (see picture below in the debug window). I am not able to solve this problem. I have tried other controllers cause I thought it has HW faulty, but it is giving me the same problem. last thing I tried deleted the folder flash (the output of the building) and updated my CCS. same problem is still happening.

Does this happen every time or only the first time you debug?

Kamal, did you try the same project on another PC? Can you also switch to a new workspace and try debugging the project.
*the suggestions are - assuming that the projects are working with no modifications.

Dear Gautam,

First of all, sorry for the late reply, I missed the TI notification. However, the good thing I managed to come to a conclusion that the software is not the reason for the problem, because I am able to run in same software on other controllers. but I still have the problem with other 10 controllers. In a summary what I checked and have done:

Soldered a new micro controllers (TMS320F28027). replaced a new eeprom, still the same problem, to make it definite, I "unsoldered" the eeprom from healthy controller the processor did not halt. I checked all the supply voltages around the controller, they all looked fine, also grounded where it should be. the below screenshot is what I get when it halts (Disassembly).

It is halting in "wait boot". Set your emulate boot value if you want it to boot somewhere else. When no emulator is connected, then it will boot based on the boot mode selection GPIOs.

If you are going to wait boot and want to get to your start of application, typically you can select the "restart" button in CCS to bring you to main. It goes to wait boot by default when debugger is connected, in which then people typically load their project onto the device. You can program the emulation boot location in RAM to tell the device upon boot to not go to wait boot and go straight to flash if that's what you'd like it to do.

Dear Chris,

Actually that is what I always have done and what I am doing with the working controllers. Loading the software, then waiting till it is flashed then restart it, then I should click on resume, which eventually should start normally. however, with 10 controllers that I have, after the restart, it goes to the halt mode and never gets out of it.

After you load to flash and before hitting restart, what address does it show it's at?
Also, have you tried loading, then cpu reset button, then restart button?

On controllers that don't have the issue vs ones that do, are your boot settings the same? Is the issue consistent with ones that work vs ones that don't work?

Than does not halt but it does not function.

The other way without restart, it halts with this address
3ff5f5: 7625 ESTOP0

I am syncing with other members on the team.

It looks like as soon as you run your application, the device is restarting and getting stuck in wait boot. Can you confirm you are setting the emulation boot value? This will just be good to know.

Did you review section 2.9 www.ti.com/.../sprufn6a.pdf ? The emulation boot value set in RAM tells it where to boot when using debugger.

Also, is your watchdog enabled or disabled before reaching main?
