TMS320F28377D: F28377D to replace F28337S

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hello Champs,

If using F28377D to replace F28377S (the same package), would you please kindly help whether it does make sure any software modification and any hardware change are not necessary or not? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Linda

  • Linda,

F28379S is a good option for you instead of F28377D since you can use full 1MB Flash from CPU1 (no CPU2 in F28379S) for the application and is the same case when you move to F28377S.

Also, Flash API and Flash tools remain same when you use F28379S and F28377S.

Note that the performance of the second bank in F28377S is not the same as that of F28377D.  Second bank in F2837xS devices incur an extra wait state (no need to configure the extra wait state in the register though) - For this reason, it is better to use F28379S so that you would know the performance that you get when you move to F28377S.

As you know, you have to make sure to not use the peripherals (for example - CLB) that does not exist in F28377S.

    Thanks and regards,
    Vamsi
