C2000 spi protocol

hello,I known that SPI of c2000  is a trademark of Motorola, but does it support TI model or Freescale model ?and how can i configure it?

Thank you.

  • Seven,

I am not aware of any trademark on the SPI name or protocol. At this point it is a de facto standard with many implementations from many companies. I am curious what is prompting your question. The C2000 SPI does support all 4 standard SPI clocking schemes, though our definition of PHASE = 1 may be differing from other implementations.

I suspect that you are looking at a TIVA or TI M3/M4 SSI implementation and curious if we are compatible. Please correct me if I am wrong. It seems that the TI and Freescale modes generally refer to the behavior of the Chip Select Signal in between consecutively transmitted words. TI mode looks more like a McBSP compatibility mode. and Freescale mode looks more like a standard SPI. The C2000 SPI will hold the SPISTE low (active) for the duration of a transmission as long as there is data to be transmitted.

    Does this help your understanding?

    Regards,
    Mark
