Hi,

I started working on TI-RTOS for C28X micro-controllers (NEWBIE :). I am facing issue when I try to register a clock instance statically. I added the instance with the ISR function, but while linker resolves all the symbols, it says me that ISR symbol is not referenced. I already checked for any typos but cannot find one. here are the screenshots.

Afwaan,

Try putting a leading underscore in front of the function name in the RTOS function box, _clockFxn.

Please try initializing the clock dynamically in code instead. If you need help with this, please take a look at this post:

I am able to initialize dynamically. Although I have one question in this regards. If I am dynamically initializing my clock and if I want to change the tick period ( Ticks per us) how can I do that? I can just declare the variable Clock in app.cfg and just change it to clock.tickPeriod = (whatever I want) and then can create any clock structure in my main application (C/C++)? Will this structure have the new tick period (not the default tick period 1000 us?) Sorry for this silly question. I am right now on the curve of learning this BIOS. Thanks in advance.

No worries! In order to change the tick period within your main application, you need set the tick source to USER. Please take a look at this thread for more information:

Hi there,

I still need to set 'Clock_TickSource' to 'USER' in app.cfg file (static) right? My current requirement is to set tickPeriod constant (where ever I want to do (statically app.cfg)) so, can I set Clock.tickperiod in app.cfg and create clock dynamically in my application?

Hi Afwaan,

Yes, if you don't need to change the tick period at run-time then you can set it statically in app.cfg. The clock instance that you create dynamically will then have the same resolution as the one you set in app.cfg. For example, if you set Clock.tickPeriod = 1000 (us) in app.cfg, then you will have 1 ms of resolution in your dynamically created Clock. In this case, you don't have to set the tick source to USER.
