TMS320F28069M: Do you have a plan to support BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS in next MotorWare?

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS, MOTORWARE, LAUNCHXL-F28069M

Hello,

do you have a plan to support BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS in next MotorWare?

We use F28069M + DRV8305N now.

As the next model, we would like to change them to F28069M + DRV8323RS.

Best regards,

  • Ayo,
Not exactly. We plan that MotorWare v18 will not be updated again for any reason. We are planning for v18 to be the final release for the InstaSPIN enabled F2806x/5x/2x devices using ROM library v1p6 and v1p7. We are moving on to a new MotorWare package for next generation InstaSPIN enabled devices.

Typically as TI introduces new boards (EVMs or TIDs) we ask the board owner to either include a "How to add support in MotorWare" or actually include the files that need changing (hal.c, hal.h, user.h typically). In this case the BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS developer planned to only offer "support" with an MSP430 Launchpad showing trapezoidal BLDC.

We have gotten several requests for InstaSPIN support though. It is quite simple to add and we have done it ourselves to support LAUNCHXL-F28069M.

We are looking at how we support...ideally we add this as a .zip to the product folder, but we may just post to the e2e in the meantime.

    Stay tuned.
