TMDXIDDK379D: DesignDrive queries

1. Some of the features supported by 37xx are not supported by earlier devices, such as the PM, sigma delta,... Basically this device is a superset device with additional features. If you want to use the IDDK platform to study, verify algorithms that does not use the additional features, an earlier device can also fit here. The header pins are functional compatible.

Thanks for the reply. I had a few questions on top of these.
1. My basic need is to evaluate F28374S for sensored BLDC motor control. So, when purchasing the kit do I get to choose this MCU in particular? The data sheet says the control card comes with F28379D.
2. If used to control a DC motor, is there some additional requirements?
3. What capacity DC motors can be driven using the DesignDrive?

If you want to try just the BLDC control, you may look at the HVMotor+PFC kit as it also comes with the example project.
The inverter in both these boards are capable of 300V, 8A per phase.

My actual need emphasizes use of F28374S whereas HVAC PFC kit uses F28335. Can you suggest a kit other than DesignDrive with F2837xS for sensored BLDC motor control?

Also, does DesignDrive have current sense for each of the three inverter legs?

You can use the x374S control card and use an adapter to mount it on to HVMotor kit. You don't have to use x335.

Okay. Is there some specific reason why HVAC PFC kit can be better than DesignDrive? I need UART, CAN and integration with BLDC, DC, DC Servo and stepper motors.

Please also mention if current sense is available with each of the three legs of inverter in DesignDrive. If you can share a detailed documentation on the same, that would be helpful too.

1. Is there a peak current rating? I understand that 8A is the rated current. I want to know the stall current.
2. Is there a built-in brake mechanism? If no, how can braking be configured.
3. Can an incremental encoder and absolute encoder be connected simultaneously?

What is the voltage level at which the board accepts encoder and feedback signals?
