TMS320F28335: Power supply issues

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hi,

Some questions about C2000.

A) F28335, power supply:

Customer did a power supply for F28335 with LDO. During 3.3V and 1.9V powering on, there's something like ripple. At this moment, reset pin is low. It will be high after 3.3V and 1.9V are stable. Is the ripple an issue for F28335?

B) F28004x Flash code executing performance. Because of lack of RAM size, we are thinking of putting the code in Flash, instead of copying to RAM and executing. What will be the efficiency gap between Flash and RAM? We can take FOC as an example.

What about the situation in F28x7x?

C) F28x7x CLA performance? We found some gaps between C28x and CLA? The same code (pure fix point), CLA costs more time than C28x. What could be the issue?

What about the situation in F28004x?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Jordan,
Can you split them into 3 different threads. I have difficulty in assigning them to engineers as they all require different expertise.

  • Jordan,

As Baskaran has suggested, please split questions B and C into their own independent threads. It will help us to track and assign the posts Better.

    Regarding A):
Is the customer seeing a problem or just wondering if the behavior might cause an issue?

    - If the customer I don't see any specific issues with the waveform, but noise on a power supply is generally a good thing to avoid. Ensure that the datasheet requirements for decoupling caps and the LDO recommendations are followed appropriately.

    - If the customer is seeing an issue, we would need more information before we begin to suspect the power up as the cause.

    Thanks,
    Mark
  • Mark,

Customer just want to know if the behavior might cause an issue.

    Thanks a lot.
