TMS320F28379D: EMIF with LaunchXL-F28379D or LaunchXL-F28377S

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28379D

Hello there,

does someone know from experience if the EMIF on one of the Launchpads F28377S or F28379D are usable in the sense that the pins are available on the headers?
I´m plaing to use the EMIF with 16 bit word width - 32bit is not needed.
I know, i can generate this information from the "Signal Description" Table - but may be one of you simply knows the answer.

best regards!

  • Hello,

    i got the hint to use the PINMUX Tool.
    As far as i see, neigther of the boards supports the EMIF.
    The 100 pin footprint on the LaunchXL-F28377S doesn´t have the EMIF hardware

    The Layout of the LaunchXL-F28379D doesn´t have all the required pins of the BGA connected to the headers
    For example, the EM1DO -> PINB11-> GPIO85 is not routed to the headers.
  • There is a dedicated high-density header on the bottom side of LAUNCHXL-F28379D that has access to EMIF1 pins:

    The higher address pins EM1A[12]+ and EM1SDCKE are not available.

    LAUNCHXL-F28379D Rev 2.0 is expected to swap:

    • GPIO33 -> GPIO52 (EM1A12)
    • GPIO117 -> GPIO29 (EM1SDCKE)
