TMS320F28034: Flash API, Erase function

Hello

I have some questions about flash erase on TMS320F28034.

1.

When trying to erase a sector that all bits in this sector are “1”, does Flash Erase API actually try to erase?

Or it doesn’t do anything because all bits are already “1”?

The background of this question is that I want to confirm whether erasing all "1" sector with API take longer time than other case or not.

2.

I think erase time of each sectors in a device is different respectively. Correct?

Regards,

Oba

  • Oba,

    1) When you invoke flash erase operation on an already erased device, the Flash API will not apply further erase pulses as the flash is already erased. So, it does take less time.

    2) Yes, flash erase time of each sector will likely to be different.
