TMS320F280049: Crystal Oscillator Electrical Characteristics

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hello,

On the datasheet Table 6-25. Crystal Oscillator Electrical Characteristics, Start-up time is specified as typ 2ms.

If actual condition is difference from the TEST CONDITIONS on the datasheet, how to consider about Start-up time? If any idea, please let me know.

Regards,

Furuya

  • Hi Furuya,

    Can you please explain what you mean by "actual condition is different"? Datasheet spec will support any temperature and voltage variance, I am not sure what different conditions you are referring here, can you provide an example?

    Regards,

    Nirav

  • Nirav,

    The test condition is below on the datasheet. If customer use case is not the same condition, how to consider the start-up time?
    Actually, test condition is almost the worst(Max) case, so 2ms (typ) should be almost nearly to max spec, I think.

    f = 20 MHz
    ESR MAX = 50 Ω
    CL1 = CL2 = 24 pF
    C0 = 7 pF

    Regards,
    Furuya
  • Hi Furuya,

    Margins are added to our data to cover the different Crystal Specifications, so 2ms limit should comprehend any variation in test conditions. Let us know if the customer run into any issues.

    Regards,

    Nirav
