Hello team,

one of my customers is looking for a more powerful alternative of the TMS320F28335, as the device is on its limits. The only alternative I could find was the TMS320F28377S.

What is the effort to port the SW of the TMS320F28335 to the TMS320F28377S? The pin configurations needs to be remapped, but how about the used modules, like CAN interface (dCAN to eCAN)? Is there a guideline available?

In addition, what is the effort to change the devices in terms of hardware? The supply voltage needs to be reduced to 1.2V. What else needs to be considered?

As you know, there are many differences between the F28335 and F28377S which need to be understood when migrating. First, start by consulting with the C2000 Real-Time Control Peripherals Reference Guide SPRU566 to understand the differences between the peripheral "Types" for each device:

Then you might consider looking at both the F28335 and F28377D multi-day workshop lab/solution exercises for each device. Both workshops use a common application example and you can gain an understanding of the difference with respect to software by reviewing each lab exercise (source code).
