TMS320F28027F: Speed control wind-up issue, please help

Part Number: TMS320F28027F
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hello -

I am having an issue with InstaSPIN-FOC speed control that is currently a real problem for me. I'll do my best to explain:

When the motor has no load or a load that it can handle without issue, the speed controller responds as expected.

However, there are times where the motor is put under a heavy load, and the motor is not able to follow the acceleration (TRAJ) plan. When this happens, if I suddenly request 0 speed, the motor continues for a brief period (based on my accel rate) before decelerating and stopping. In a a vehicle application, this is a safety issue.

I am looking for a way to detect this. Basically, when the motor speed is below what the Trajectory planner thinks it is this happens.

Another thought is to just perform some operation when I request 0 speed, to "reset" this so that the trajectory planners speed is the same as the motor speed (Speed_krpm).

Please chime in! Any assistance is appreciated.

Please advise.
