CCS 3.3 and Delfino

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I'm trying to connect to a F28335 on a board, but I can't select a configuration using the Setup Code Composer Studio tool.  When I select the device family, the 28335 is not in the list.  I'm thinking I must need an update or a file, but I haven't been able to determine what I'm missing.  My colleagues here are able to connect, so they have obviously stumbled into it, but they can't remember how the got the device to show up in the Setup program.  (They set theirs up months ago.)

Thanks,

Dave

  • Hi Dave,

You either need to update CCS (which version do you have?) with service pack 12 and Delfino chip support package (CSP) or you need to install appropriate JTAG drivers

    Regards, Mitja

  • I'm running CCS 3.3.82.13.  I have installed Delfino CSP 3.3.2801.  I was able to load a board file from a coworker that's labeled F28335 XDS510USB Emulator.  I've also been able to flash code into the part using the emulator.  I can (sometimes) connect with the board now, but it goes into the weeds when I try to run.  Is this the correct version of the CSP?

  • You have correct version of CSP. Did you install latest emulator drivers (usually either Blackhawk or Spectrum Digital)

Based on the symptoms you described either you have incorrect GEL file (it does not unlock your DSP) or there is something wrong with your hardware. Did you try connecting on hardware that works with your colleagues?

  • David,

You might also want to try installing the 32KB limited version of CCS V3.3 from here: http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_registered_sw/sdo_ccstudio/CCSv3/Free/C2000_Code_Composer_Studio_v3.3.83.19_limited.zip  This is the final version of CCSV3.3 and if you're using an XDS100 emulator contains the latest drivers. Try installing this in a DIFFERENT directory than your current install and see if the latest version works.
