Hi,

I am using F28335 with oscclk=20Mhz and Cpu clkin=100Mhz.

If the control software crashes I need to reset the DSP in 300us time.

But the shortest possible reset time for watchdog is 6,528ms in my configuration. Am i right?

6,528ms is not enough for me.

So is there any other way to understand software crash without using any external component?

Or How can I configure watcdog timer for approximately 300us overflow?

Hi!

I don't know if this is what you need, but like this you can force a watchdog reset. But you must somehow detect the software crash.

    EALLOW;
   SysCtrlRegs.SCSR = 0x0000;       // Enable WDRST mode
    SysCtrlRegs.WDCR = 0x0038;       // Immediate device reset   WDCHK != 101
    EDIS;

Yes, writing WDCHK ! = 101 will provide an immediate WD reset

Hello Manoj,

I need some some help with Watchdog function as well.

I am using CCS3.3 and F28335 Microcontroller. I want to use watchdog as my S/W reset. As soon as my watchdog kicks in, Device reset to Some "Main() Address" instead of C_Init00(). How do I solve this issue? I am using Flash and for that I also use CodeStartBranch_Flash_to_Ram().

I can see my WDFLAG gets SET to 1 and some thing is resetting but dont know what? My PC just go to random address.

Can you please Help?

Hello Manoj,

Have you solved your problem? I'm in a similar case. My code goes into the wathdog interrupt, forces a reset (

SysCtrlRegs.WDCR = 0x00;) but nothing happend. I'm lost!!!

WDCR register is EALLOW protected. Make sure to EALLOW is enabled before you execute this instruction
Set a breakpoint in Reset ISR vector to check whether the device is reset.
