Hello all,

I m currently working on a TMS320F2812 application. I'm used to working with F28335, F28069 and now F28779...

I d like and know if the best complier to use is the 6.4.12 or is it better to use an older version?

Is there a Library and/or options that can enhance the code in order to have most effcient computation time on this DSP?

I m currently using IQ for fast computation and like to know what s the risk in using IEEE float...

The version 6.4.x series of releases is no longer actively supported. You should consider using version 16.9.6.LTS, which is the latest from the 16.9.x.LTS series of releases. For more background, please see the article Compiler Version Numbers and What They Mean.

Regarding the compiler, please see the article C28x Code Generation Tips and Tricks. As for libraries, you should look into C2000Ware.

The TMS320F2812 does not have floating point instructions. So floating point operations are computed by calling functions in the compiler RTS library. It's expensive.

Just one question more is C2000Ware. available as a zip file? the .exe does not pass my anti-virus...

C2000Ware is not supported by the compiler team. Please start a new thread in the C2000 device forum. Or, if you prefer, I can move this thread to that forum.

C2000Ware is provided as EXE only. You can download the package (I believe as a zip) through the cloud resource explorer: http://dev.ti.com/tirex/#/

I still recommend for best experience to install it (or install it to another PC and copy it over).
Some anti-virus show it as a false positive and you are safe to add C2000Ware as an exception for your virus scanner.
