TMS320F28335: Controller stops after 5 min when downloading code generated from Simulink

Hi all,

I am trying to download a simple code generated automatically through Simulink (it is just producing PWM pulses, you can find it in the link below). Previously, I was successfully doing it with the same code. Now, I bought a new ControlCard and XDS100_v2 Emulator and when I am downloading the same code to it, it stops working after 5 min.

When I am downloading code from CCS, everything works fine.

Could you please help me?

Is it possible that I haven't set correctly the DIP switches? SW1 is in OFF position, while SW2 are all ON. Can you confirm that it is correct?

Hi,

From the model I see you are using a custom .ccxml.

Could you please try default file that we ship and see if it helps? For default settings, select any other target and then select back F28335. That would reset to default.

$(TARGET_ROOT)/CCS_Config/f28335.ccxml

Thank you for your help.

Initially, I had this f28335.ccxml and it was doing the same, so I decided to make my own. Anyway, I tried again with f28335.ccxml but the problem remains.

Also, I checked the box in Configuration parameters to boot from flash. Now, the controller produces pulses, but it seems like losing them for a sec and resets again from flash.

I am confused, so I want to try from the beginning the whole thing. Could you help me how to erase the flash, so the controller not to boot from there and try from the beginning?

Hi,

When we uncheck the option boot from flash and download code, we now execute from RAM.
So the code in Flash should not be a problem. You model code would be execute out of RAM and the flash code will not come in picture.

This is what I was also expecting, that if I uncheck Boot from flash, then it won't be problem. However, this doesn't seem to work like so. It works for a while from RAM and then executes the code that was coded in flash.

Hi,

This means the code is having a running reset issue.
When executing from RAM, if the code resets, it would default to flash for execution.
Can you try our demo model from the examples we ship and see if it works without any issue.

Hi,

Thank you very much, this solved my issue. The demo model worked fine and then when I got back to mine, it seems it is also working fine.
I really cannot understand what was the problem.
