TMS320F280049: QEP Strobe Output Routed Internally to EXTSYNCIN2

Looking to save a pin in a tight HW design...

The goal is to route eQEP-1 Strobe (configured as an output) internally to EXTSYNCIN2 (through input X-Bar). This should be achievable with the Input XBAR: Input X-BAR INPUT6 has a connection to EXTSYNCIN2 (per Figure 7-1 of TRM). I assume there is no issue with using the input side of QEP1 strobe output at a pin to feed the XBAR (no special case here). If there is any reason for concern, please let me know.

Hi Eric,

Can you please elaborate on what you are trying to do? Are you trying to output signal on eQEP strobe through dedicated GPIO, and then use the same signal routed through XBAR INPUT6 to EXTSYNCIN2? Basically are you trying to loop back signal output from eQEP through INPUTXBAR on EXTSYNCIN2?

Eric - Yes you should be able to do that without any issues, as long as you do not connect any load to that pin.
