I am a master student from Taiwan,When I was doing CCS project,I encountered some problems.The main questions are as follows :

When I opened the SFRA window as a teaching video, I was unable to find the COM port (as the picture shows)

Can you solve this problem? Thanks!!!

System : Win 8.1

Tools : F28069M & BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV

Software : CCS v7.3 & POWERSUITE

Hi Wei Chieh,

Using a Virtual COM port is easiest because it doesn't require additional cabling - it uses the already connected USB cable for the JTAG emulator.

You could use a physical RS-232 port on your PC, but you would need an additional serial cable and an RS-232 physical level transceiver to translate the RS-232 levels to the CMOS levels of the MCU pins.

You should also be able to reprogram the XDS100 EEPROM to have windows recognize the COM port natively: e2e.ti.com/.../2340954
