TMS320F28027F: InstaSPIN motor ID Rs fail problem

Part Number: TMS320F28027F

Hi Champion

I debugged customer board based on F28027F InstaSPIN FOC. After modified the source code according the hardware, I tried to do motor ID use Estun_EMJ_04APB22 motor. But the Rs calculation is incorrect:

After RoverL, the Rhf looks fine. And Current bias and voltage bias is correct. There are also have motor ID waveform.

please give some suggestions. Thank you!

  • Hi Champion
Already find the cause. The current and voltage feedback connect with a ESD protection device TPD4S009DBVR, after removing this ESD device, the Rs calculation work fine, and motor run well.
Why cannot connect a ESD device?
  • Hi Eric,

Do the voltage and current feedback signals look identical on an oscilloscope with the diodes present and removed?

In general, it should usually be possible to put protection diodes on the ADC inputs, although it may result in some minor distortion due to the (non-linear) capacitance of the diode inputs. However, usually these diodes would clamp between VDDA and VSSA, but it looks like the diode array that you used only clamps to ground (it has a Vcc connection, but this is not used for clamping).
