Can anyone suggest how to calculate the CPU usage in application ? Is there any document to refer.

Hi Chandrakant,

One way is to set up a CPU Timer to count execution cycles. Another method is to use the clock feature in the CCS debug session. Please see the link below for details:

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for your reply.I have gone through the link. It shows how to count the sysclkout freq using CPU timers. But how do we calculate the CPU usage in percentage by calculating the sysclkout freq using CPU timers.

Hi Chandrakant,

Once you've profiled the relevant code section to get the cycle count, you can multiply cycle count by the CPU frequency to determine the execution time taken by code.

If the code is an ISR or function called at a specified frequency, then execution time of the code divided by the period of the ISR or function would give you the percent of usage.
