TMS320F28374S: Internal 1.2V regular usage of TMS320F28374s

Hi Team,

As TMS320F28374s has VREG pin which purpose is for internal 1.2V to save external 1.2V circuit, but also datasheet mentioned must to use external 1.2V. Used the internal 1.2V but without any fault during the test with EVM modified,could you kindly give comments why internal 1.2V can't be used?

Hi Benjamin,

The on-chip VREG does not have the current drive capability to cover all the possible device operating conditions. While it will probably work for a nominal unit under nominal conditions it will fail for some units under worst-cast conditions.
