Linux/TMS320F28035: How to get floating values in a fixed point processor in Memory Browser(for SFRA).

I am Vamshi Krishna,

I am trying to tune Solar Micro Inverter with SFRA, but GUI is not supported in Linux(Ubuntu 16.04). So, I am taking values directly from Memory Browser.

Since I am using a fixed point processor, then how to fix the below problem.

Above is a 32bit Unsigned integer picture

If I keep 32 Bit Floating I am getting the right values, but for the below one I am getting a problem.

Now if I select 32 bit floating point I am getting the below problem.

Help me to solve this.

Vamshi,

Because it is a fixed point device, the OL_MageVect, PhaseVect, Plant_MagVect, PhaseVect will all be stored in IQ24 which is a fixed point format.

Hence you must export the data from the watch window as 32 bit signed integer.

Now once you have that data in excel you can manually divide the elements by 2^24 , to see the numbers in a floating point representation.

Sir,
I have done the above suggested procedure but got an incorrect data. After browsing on net I learnt that, to convert 32 bit signed integer to floating point, we have to divide the elements by 65536(2^16). I rechecked it with the other SFRA data which was extracted in windows.

yes, sorry for the confusion .. the phase , ol variables are stored in IQ16 and not IQ24, hence they need to be divided by 2^16
