TMS320F280049: Missing clock detection

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hello Champs,

For F280049 missing clock detection, there is chapter 2.7.7 in TRM to describe the details.

Would you please kindly help below questions?

1) Is it like F2802x/3x/06x that reset will be triggered when missing clock is detected?

2) Is there also "limp mode" in F280049 which is similar with F2802x/03x/06x?

3) If missing clock still exists after setting the MCDCLR bit, would repeated reset occur?

Thanks!

Best Regards,

Linda

  • Hi Linda,

     1) Is it like F2802x/3x/06x that reset will be triggered when missing clock is detected?

No, it is like 07x where missing clock will generate NMI

     2) Is there also "limp mode" in F280049 which is similar with F2802x/03x/06x?

No, there is no limp mode. In case of missing clock, clock source is changed to INTOSC1 in hardware.

     3) If missing clock still exists after setting the MCDCLR bit, would repeated reset occur?

If NMI is not serviced then NMIWD will reset the device and device will BOOT again and if there is still missing clock then it'll go through same sequence again.

  • Hello Vivek,

    Thank you. It's very clear.
