TMS320F28335: Bad boot in DSP28335 boot in low temperature environment (0C ~ -32C)

Part Number: TMS320F28335

1. The problem:  Bad boot in DSP28335 boot in low temperature environment (0C ~ -32C)

2. DSP board peripheral state at low-temperature boot  : Power 3.3V, 1.9V normal, Reset Normal (same as normal temperature boot)

3. DSP Environment Configuration

  : CCS Version 3.3.82.13

    BIOS Version 5.41.10. 36

    code Generation Version 5.2.11

4. Please advise: How to stop booting when boot fails

Programmed DSP initialization InitXintF (); Function Local area

During initialization, it goes into an infinite loop and confirms that it can not boot.

5. History of the issue: : 2015 ~ 2016 production did not go wrong, first started to notice this problem with parts used in 2017, problem recurring in many boards built in 2018. This would suggest that parts manufactured after 2015/2016 are more likely to show this issue.

The same phenomenon as above occurs in other boards using the same part.

Additional comments from the customer:

Our expectation is that the firmware is implemented in the form of a DSP BIOS.

At some point in time, the DSP chip itself seems to have been upgraded or changed.

Considering that the DSP on old production boards has been fine, it will be necessary to review the DSP itself.

Have other users reported issues like this?

Has it been confirmed that the issue is due to BIOS version?

If so, which part lots were affected?
