TMS320F28062: About absolute maximum rating of ADC input

Hi,

I have a question about the absolute maximum rating of the F2806x's ADC input.

The absolute maximum rating of analog voltage of -0.3 to 4.6 V is prescribed in the data sheet,
is the input of ADC the same, too?

    Full-scale range of the ADC is 0 to 3.3V.  This is documented on pages 83-86 of the datasheet SPRS698F.

    To add to David's comment, what you have noted is from section 5.1 which are the absolute max ratings for the device(under which conditions we specify the device to not be damaged), NOT the operational voltages which are listed in section 5.4.

    There is another stipulation that any ADCIN should not exceed operational VDDA supply : 2.97V - 3.63V.

    As David mentioned the FSR of the ADC is 0 - 3.3V using the internal reference(default option), or 0- VREFHI if using the external reference. Same restriction applies to VREFHI, it must not be greater than VDDA for functional operation.

    I understand the recommended operating conditions of ADCIN.
    As a question from my customer I would like to confirm that
    the absolute maximum rating of ADCIN is the same as the analog
    voltage (-0.3 to 4.6 V) listed in the data sheet.

    You are correct, the same Absolute Max applies to the ADCIN as well.  My previous comment still applies, though, that is ADCIN should not be greater than VDDA to avoid electrical damage to the pin.  To be technically correct, I think it would be VDDA +0.3V greater, since there is an ESD diode inline for some protection.
