TMS320F28069M: GUI Emulation Error

Part Number: TMS320F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

We are trying to launch the Insta-Spin MOTION GUI for the TMS320F2806M. We have downloaded the GUI software, powered our C2000 board with 15 V DC, and connected the emulator with the USB. The LED on our controlCARD are on, so it is getting power. SW1 is UP-UP, SW2 is DN-DN, and SW3 is UP-UP as specified in the QSG. When we launch the GUI, we are getting the following error:

Restarting Program Model...
Initializing target : C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_MOTION_F2806xM\appConfig.ccxml
Connecting target: Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Emulator_0/C28xx
sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.WrappedException: Wrapped com.ti.ccstudio.scripting.environment.ScriptingException: Error connecting to the target: emulation failure occurred (<Unknown source>#14) in <Unknown source> at line number 14Restart Completed.

Our Device Manager is detecting the USB connections, as we see devices for XDS1000 Class Auxiliary Port as well as XDS1000 Class Debug Port. The GUI will open, but we see red X's over many of the data windows. Can you help us resolve the issue?

Thank you!

  • Do you have the board powered through the dock? Power cycling the board doesn't help? Make sure you aren't connected to the board through CCS or some other source when you're trying to connect through the GUI.

Are you able to connect to the board through CCS?

  • Any progress? Did you figure it out?

Edit: Since I haven't heard back from you, I'm going to assume you got it working and close this thread. If that's not the case and you still need help, feel free to reply and we'll reopen the issue.
