Hi,

I would like to write the serial number of each of our products to the OTP of the micro. In the controlSUITE, I found an example showing how to write to the flash of the micro. However there's no example explaining how to write to the OTP of the micro.

Could someone help me ? Thanks a lot.

Hi Gautam,

Your post concerns the micro F2803x or equivalent. They do not use the same Flash API library as the micro F2807x.

Your wiki page is very helpful. Thanks a lot. However I have always troubles with OTP writing. Actually according to your wiki page, writing to OTP does not need other actions compared with writing to Flash. In the document SPNU595, I found the two functions Fapi_enableBanksForOtpWrite and Fapi_disableBanksForOtpWrite. In the page 14, it shows we must give a value to the u8Banks parameter.

1. Is it really necessesary to call Fapi_enableBanksForOtpWrite before writing to OTP ?
2. Which value can be used for the u8Banks parameter ? That's why I asked for an example in my original post.

Glad that my wiki page is helpful.

I think you are using an older version of SPNU595. See below Flash API reference guide links copied from the wiki. Fapi_enableBanksForOtpWrite() function is not required for C2000 devices. The older SPNU595 document used to be shared by both C2000 and Hercules customers. Hence, in the old document, you would see a note that this function is not applicable for C2000 devices. In the latest C2000 dedicated SPNU595, I removed this function. Hope it helps.

Note for F2807x users: The sample implementations (examples) provided in SPNU629 use 200MHz CPUCLK frequency since that document is primarily made for TMS320F2837xD devices. TMS320F2807x users should not use more than 120MHz of CPUCLK as mentioned in the data manual.
