CCS/TMS320F28377D: cannot import CCS project provided by TI

Part Number: TMS320F28377D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-DELFINO-ETHERCAT, CCSTUDIO

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello. I'm currently trying to implement EtherCAT communication by using F28377D.

In TI home page, I could find some materials for EtherCAT communication such as evaluation boards, named Launch Pad, and an example software (CCS project) for the board. They are linked in "http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDM-DELFINO-ETHERCAT"

However, I have a problem at importing the example software on CCS. The software has been downloaded on the above link, and its name is “TIDM-DELFINO-ETHERCAT Software (Rev. A) (ZIP, 4498KB), 07 Jun 2017”

The error message is as follows:

“Error: Import failed for project 'pdi_hal_test_app' because its compiler definition is not available. Please install the C2000v15.9 compiler before importing this project - click 'View > CCS App Center' to check if compiler updates are available, or install the compiler manually and register it with CCS through 'Preferences > CCS > Build > Compilers'.”

I have updated the compiler to the latest version (v18.1.1.LTS), but the result was the same. The C2000v15.9 compiler mentioned in the error message, was not found in TI home page.

I tried that under CCS version 6.1.1 and 7.1.0. in Windows 10.

Please, let me know what should I do.

Thanks.

  • Hello

You need to install exactly v15.9 compiler.

In CCS open menu "Help - Install New software". In the field "Work with..." choose "Code Generation Tools Updates - ht t p://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/codegen/Updates/p2win32/"

Then uncheck "Show only the latest versions of avaliable software" and then you will see "C2800 C/C++ Compiler v15.9.0" in the list. But becareful - don't confuse it with "ARM C/C++ Compiler v15.9.0".

  • Minho,

Were you able to resolve your issue with importing the project?

    Regards,
