TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: FAST ACI Capabilites

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN

I am evaluating FAST with an ACI traction-motor application in mind.  The motor I'm ultimately wanting to control is a four-pole rated at 600 amps at 96V.  I've noted that the typical ADC full scale current for the kit GUI is about 20 with a full scale IQ current of 10.

Do you believe the decreased analog resolution (i.e. 0 to 3.3V for 0 to 600 amps) will still allow FAST to successfully control such a motor?

Do you believe the FAST logic can successfully "identify" such a motor?

Currently working with small motors to understand the technology before scaling up.  Just wanting to know such a scale up is possible.

  • There is some difficulty in identifying large ACI motors currently, as the motor ID sequence requires locking the rotor for one step. If you are unable to do this, you will not receive accurate results. Otherwise, as long as the feedback path is clean and biased correctly, it shouldn't be an issue for the current and voltage you've stated. Again, the issue will be identifying such a motor with InstaSPIN
