TMS320F28377S: Synchronizing multiple ePWMs on 100 Pin Package

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

Per the TRM, Figure 13-7, ePWM synchronization of all ePWMs can be setup through the ePWM1 output. At Least that appears to be the only ePWM that send sync pulses to all others (ignoring external inputs 1 and 2). The 100 pin package does not give pin access to EPWM1 (as well as some others). Specifically, we have EPWM2, 6,7,8,9,10. if I want to synchronize and phase shift these 6 ePWMs, what is the easiest way to do it? From the figure it looks as if I need to turn on EPWMs 1,4, and 5 (although not pin accessible), and propagate the sync signals to all the ePWMs I do have pin access to - is this correct? Or is their a more straightforward method to accomplish this? What I am really interested in doing is using EPWMS 2,6,7,8,9,10 for a 6-phase interleaved buck converter so I can sync all ePWMs and apply the correct phase shifts to the modulators.

Thanks,

  • Hi Troy,

Even if not pinned out, the ePWM1 module does exist so you can use that as your master sync' source if you want. I think that is probably the easiest way to handle things.
