CCS/TMS320F28379D: how to choose EtherCAT Solution!

Hi， everyone.

      I would like to test EtherCat on F28379D, and need to buy a fit board from TI. 

     I find two boards which are "TMDSECATCNCD379D" and "TIDM-DELFINO-ETHERCAT". Which one should i need to buy?

   

     TMDSECATCNCD379D have the above picture . It is shown that there are two boards ,the ethercat ET110 on the adpter board and the TMS320F28379D on the control board .

It is enough only to  buy TMDSECATCNCD379D .

     

    

      Another board green is included in the above picture, It is used to supply the power and output all of pins from 28379d .  do I need to buy it together?

     Now in china , the board often use JTAG to debug which has 14pins . I have seed-XDS560V2(Arrow) tool to emulate dsp chip .Can I use this emulater on EtherCat solution, if not ,which type emulater should  I buy, please give me the specific name and link .

    I hope I do not need to buy power supply.

    Please order TMDSECATCNCD379D kit, we have good SW collateral and user guides for this in controlSuite (C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\TMDSECATCND379D_V1.0).

    This kit has control card and EtherCAT daughter card and can be powered using USB and has inbuilt XDS100V2 JTAG as well so you don't actually need
    a docking station to get started with EtherCAT on this. But if you have a F2837xD docking station then you can plug this in to it and power it up from docking station and also use the JTAG connector on the docking station with your XDS560 box, but you don't need it as the controlCard has FTDI on board supporting XDS100v2 and can be connected to CCS using a USB cable.

    We don't sell the docking station as a separate part at this point of time but we are working on this and could be available during mid-june time frame, so stay tuned for this update.

    TMDSECATCNCD379D kit do not include dock station, also i can not buy dock station because Ti do not sell it seperately.
    Now the question is that i only have SEED-XDS560V2(ARROW) which have 14pins Jtag,and do not own XDS100V2. If dock station is not needed , i must buy XDS100V2. And another questions comes out as a result of my laptop using win10 operating system. If is XDS100V2 compatible with win10, and it runs well?
    I think the simple solution is i buy TMDSECATCNCD379D and dock station together , still use my emulater XDS560V2 which runs well on win10 . But it maybe not easily come ture.
    Dockstation can be used to develop 28379d function and Peripherals， also test some experiments .
    The final choice is to buy TMDSECATCNCD379D + XDS100V2, but make sure the emulator XDS100V2 can used on win10.

    Acutually I have bought two development kit about 28377D and two emulator SEED-XDS560PLUS , add the above SEED-XDS560V2.

    The last question is how invoice if i buy something from ti website.

    On the above, no you don't need an external emulator. The CCARD has a built in FTDI that supports xds100v2. I haven't seen any problem with win10 eihter, so you should be fine.

    I do not have XDS100V2. The CCARD only support FTDI . So I must buy XDX100V2 .
    I have three XDS560 which have 14 pins jtag .But It can not be used for CCard .
    I am a little confused.

    Ti can issue an invoice to me if I buy the board fromTi website.

    Maybe I think i was wrong ,"The CCARD has a built in FTDI that supports xds100v2". It means I do not need any external emulator and only need a usb wire to connect the board for debug.
    The question is solved.
    Can I buy the dock station together with TMDSECATCNCD379D ? I want to use dock station to develop.
    How long from payment to receipt in China？I guess there is no problem to open invoice ?

    Docking station is not included in TMDSECATCNCD379D, but you don't need docking station as you can power the board from micro-usb connector on the board.

    As of now, TI doesn't sell the docking station as a separate part, if you prefer to have docking station you can do one of the below:-
    1.> Buy a TMDSCNCD28379D , this will come with the docking station. But you will also get a control card.
    2.> Wait till middle of June, TI is planning to sell the docking station as a separate part but this is being planned for mid-June. Till mid-June you can work with TMDSECATCNCD379D without docking station.

    We don't see any problem for you to buy this from China, please open a new forum post if you have problems from buying from China and see any errors, we will handle it promptly.
