TMS320F28379D: ADC Overclock

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

In the datasheet of F28379D, it is written that max ADC clock value is 50 Mhz. But I was able to run it at 100 Mhz without problem. So, my question to the TI engineers, what could be go wrong when I run this ADC at 100 Mhz?

  • Kadir,

You should not violate the datasheet recommended operating conditions. While the ADC may work at your desk, it has not been tested over all conditions (e.g., voltage range, temperature range) outside of the datasheet specs. TI does not characterize the device outside of the specs, so we cannot say what might happen. For one, you will start getting more conversion error. Don't mess with it!!!
