TMS320F28375S: TRST signal connection in TMS320F2837

Part Number: TMS320F28375S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2837

Hi,

I have one question regarding the usage of TRST pin in JTAG. Usually with other controllers to ensure complete hardware reset, TRST needs be asserted at power-up and whenever RESET is asserted (for ex: RESET issued from voltage supervisor is also fed into this). Do we need to do that in TMS320F2837 as well?

But the datasheet doesn't mention this explicitly. If this pin is LOW, device is functional & when driven HIGH, gives the scan system control of the operations (doesn't seem to be RESETing the JTAG TAP controller)

could anyone please help me with the TRST connection. should this be involved in RESET (or) I can pull it down with 2.2k all the time

Thanks in advance

Thanks & Regards

In function mode, this should be pull down all the time. Only when you are debugging the device with CCS, this need to be driven by emulator.

  • Thank you Vivek.

In that case, we don't need to pull the pin HIGH whenever RESET is asserted (To ensure complete device hardware reset, including JTAG controller)
