    John,

    on this device(F280069) the eCAP and HRCAP modules are completely independent and therefore they share no resources. So no this cannot be done.

    On newer devices using a Type-1 eCAP module the HRCAP has been integrated into the eCAP, however the event prescaler is not available when using the HRCAP enhancements. This is because he event prescaler  is synchronized to SYSCLK, rendering the HRCAP enhancements useless.

    Stated another way: The HRCAP's only advantage over the eCAP is that it can measure signals that are a fractional portion of a SYSCLK, if you synchronize a signal to SYSCLK first, then take a measurement, you have eliminated the benefit of the HRCAP.
