2811 serial programming

Can the 2811 be programmed serially through the sci-a interface. The app notes state that the 281x parts can; however, there is no XMP pin to put the processor into boot mode. Thanks in advance

    David,

MP/MC controls whether the boot ROM or XINTF zone 7 is mapped on 281x devices with an external memory interface.  On 281x devices without the external memory interface (XINTF) the boot ROM is always mapped, thus no pin is needed.

Entering SCI boot mode is controlled only by the GPIO pins as described in the boot mode section of the data sheet, or boot ROM ref guide.
