TMS320F28034: TMS320F28034 [-PEG version 60pin] internal ADC sampling linearity question

Part Number: TMS320F28034

Dear C2000 Team:

                  Customer old product used TMS320F28034PN [80PIN], the new project have selection TMS320F28034PEG[ 60pin], but the ADC linearity distortion is serious.

Test condition:

Hardware design:

1. DSP AVDD power use LDO 3.3V@0.8A

                  2. Ref select internal reference voltage ;

Software test:

    1. ADC function initializes the same code.
    2. Input signal test condition is consistent.(eg. Frequency, voltage amplitude)

Customer used to CCS function window monitor the sampling waveform separately:

Figure2 TMS320F28034 –PEG 60 pin:

  • Eric,

    I would not expect significant difference in performance between the packages. The internal F28034 device would be the same, but just a different package.

    It looks like there is also an offset error? Do you see any distortion using a scope on the ADC pin for the PEG device?

  • Dear tlee :
    I checked the hardware design again. F28034_PIN 16_VDDA bypass capacitor 2.2uF layout haven't close to PIN16_VDDA .The lead to reference voltage and internal ADC interference. Thanks a lot!
