TMS320F28377D: Does anyone have an algorithm for compressing data files?

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

My customer has a very large data configuration file that is being transmitted over CAN interface. The process takes about an hour to complete. One of the options is to implement a compression algorithm - does anyone have anything already written for a C2000 device?
