CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28069M: Altium .PcbDoc File

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, LAUNCHXL-F28379D

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hey All,

I want to use LAUNCHXL-F28069M's pcb design and its file is at "C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_1_00_01_00\boards\LaunchPads\LAUNCHXL_F28069M"

".brd" is an Eagle file and I have been using Altium Designer for my projects. So I should be able to import this ".brd" file to Altium with an appropriate import tool.

It is possible with Altium's "Import Wizard" section if the file is ".alg".

To convert ".brd" files to ".alg" files, I need "Allegro Cadence" software (Allegro PCB Designer PA3100) which is approximately 37.000,00 USD, more or less.

Paying that amount and using "Allegro Cadence" just to convert that file is not an option for me.

For LAUNCHXL_F28069M, is TI planning to add an Altium Designer ".PcbDoc" file or an Allegro Cadence ".alg" file or at least a ".pcb" file to that directory?

(e.g : "C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_1_00_01_00\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28055ISO\R1_2\{TEX080}F2805xISOcontrolCARDr1.2.pcb")

Thank you.

  • Troodoon,

We have no plans to port the LAUNCHXL-F28069M to Altium.

All future TI EVMs will be made in Altium. The LAUNCHXL-F28379D is provided in Altium and is a great starting point. Though it is more complex around the MCU, the XDS100 Debug Probe, Power supply, Analog references, etc.  are similar.

    Thanks,
    Mark
