Hi,

I am new to Delfino

If ERRORSTS pin is set due to error conditions like CLOCKFAIL/RAMUNCERR/FLUNCERR, what are the correct ways of dealing with it in complete system design.

Should we monitor ERRORSTS by another processor, and then intimate user that something had gone wrong with Delfino processor or should we reset the Delfino processor and try to recover from error state

Or should the system should go to a known Safe state and then inform the user by an alarm

Hi Subramani,

It depends on your application but in general, ERRORSTS is an external notification for other components relying on the MCU. Internally, the error that set ERRORSTS pin will generate an NMI and that can be handled in the NMI handler.

Just to add what Frank has mentioned, in these error conditions PWM is also tripped and NMIWD will start running. If NMIWD is not serviced in NMI handler then it will fire reset to device which is a safe state for device.

Thanks Frank and Vivek,

We are planning to connect ERRORSTS to our HMI controller. In case of ERRORSTS, we will raise an alarm for user in HMI and STOP the motor by asserting emergency stop by HMI

Hope this is okay to reduce the risk.
