TMS320F28374S: UPP Rx and Tx switching time

Hi,

Customer is using UPP to connect FPGA, for data sharing, that's Rx and Tx are needed for UPP. But Rx and Tx are simplex for UPP. Customer needs to switch the working mode by software.

Our questions are:

1) Is it possible to switch Rx and Tx by software?

2) How long does it need to switch? Less than 1us?

1) Is it possible to switch Rx and Tx by software?

Yes, it need to be switch in software only. Please see definition of MODE field in CHCTL register.

2) How long does it need to switch? Less than 1us?

It is better to disable the peripheral before switching the MODE and then configure other settings related to RX. This should take less than 1us time assuming SYSCLK is running at 200MHz.

During switch, besides CHCTL, do I need to do a "Software Reset" as described in user guide?

Yes, that will reset the state machine to re-start.
