hi,

i have a small problem

i want that my code automaticly start up from flash at the power up, i am working on custome bulid board based TMS320F28035 DIMM Control Card

for this i have set the switch in proper position i.e 11 Get mode; the default get mode is boot from FLASH , as stated in hardware package support files

but it doesnot start up on power up,

is there any thing else needed to be done

hmmm ..... you need to write the code into the flash obviously....

Waqar,

Make sure that TRSTn isn't being held high or low by an emulator. On many of the TI application kits TI has placed a jumper between the on-board emulator and the controlCARD to avoid this type of issue.

first: does the system start up when the emulator pod is connected??

what is your Runtime environment initialization model (linker options)? choose rom model when you initialize your variables at runtime (standard) or ram model when you initialize them at load time.
did you link the rts lib into your project?
do you initialize the flashmemory in your code - i.e. is the function InitFlash() called in your main loop?

andreas,

i have no problrm in running the code from flash via emulator

i just want that once i programmed the flash,on every system power up it should start running automatically

Muhammad,

Try taking a look at some of the flash examples in controlSUITE, there is a section in the CMD Linker file that puts a "codestart" address into a specific register of FlashA that is called after a system reset, called "Begin". This uses the CodeStartBranch.asm file that directs the PC to the beginning of the main.
