TMS320F2812: Bypass capacitors for F2812 power pins

Hi,

Customer is asking if some of the capacitors (red) can be deleted from the sch, as the cost reason.

It's a solar inverter system. IGBT working frequency is 20KHz.

Hi Jordan,

They need decoupling capacitors.

Please ensure that they understand that these capacitors need to be placed close to their associated power pins to correctly function.

If two power pins of the same type are really close they may be able to get away with sharing a decoupling cap assuming they have really good power and ground planes.

Hi,
What are the "surge current", "F_noise" and "V_ripple", especially surge current?
After bypass capacitor calculated, is it possible to use less capacitors to meet the bypass capacitor value?

Hi Jordan,

I'm not sure how to get these numbers for this device, but either way the placement is more important than the total capacitance value; you'd still use the same number of capacitors...just more or less capacitance per capacitor.
