TMS320F28379D - Performance in motor drive applications vs Xilinx Zync 7000 SoC

For a motor drive controller board we are currently investigating the possible options. Currently two types are solutions are foreseen:

- TMS320 Delfino microctroller with a FPGA for glue logic

- Xilinx Zync7000 SoC

The system should be able to:

- Perform Clarke and park transformation

- Space vector modulation

- PI controllers for voltage and current

- Data logging for diagnostic information

From the FPGA supplier we have received extensive information why the FPGA solution is superior to the DSP solution, obviously they tend to promote their own product.

Can anyone give some background information why a DSP/FPGA solution is also a good option?
