TMS320F28027F: Pin Utilization of INSTA SPIN-FOC

Dear Champs,

I see the Pin utilization of Insta-SPIN FOC shown as below, for the analog pin, VA, VB, and VC are required. But in the HVPM_Enhanced_Sensorless_2803x, only VBUS sense is required, all those 3 volts(VA, VB, and VC) are calculated based on VBUS and PWM duty.

Is it possible for INSTA-SPIN to use the same method with HVPM_Enhanced_Sensorless_2803x?

Hi Jack

It is strictly necessary to sense Va,b,c for InstaSPIN-FOC. The ControlSUITE voltage estimation function does not provide accurate enough feedback for FAST. Factors like voltage drop due to Rds,on and voltage drop on the phase wire need to be accounted for in order for FAST to perform correctly

Thanks for your confirm.

Dave Wilson, in his video training(teaching old motors new tricks), says the Va, Vb, Vc should be filtered before connecting to ADC pin, and the RC constant parameter should be provided to FAST.

But I don't know how to set the cut off frequency for RC values, is there any equations how to select RC value if the switch frequency is known?
